Aim SOLO 2
“the most precise and easy way to get lap times”
The new Aim Solo 2 track day racing lap timer receives the data from two satellites constellations, GPS and Glonass. This is a huge step forward since it is unbelievably faster and more precise than the previous version. The another step forward is after power ON now only requires only a few seconds. The lap times are calculated with a max 2/100 sec of tolerance.
Aim Solo 2 screen can be backlit in one of the seven available colors:

Find your track easily and quickly
Aim Solo 2 relies on a database of more than 2,000 tracks all over the world. As soon as it switches on, the Solo 2 identifies its position. It recognises the starting line coordinates of the track and starts sampling lap timer.
Arron Harris adds the corrected New Zealand Tracks.
In the event that the track is not in the database, it’s no problem. The Aim Solo 2 realises it and switches to learning mode, automatically understands the characteristics of the track and gives the lap time anyway.
Even the Predictive Lap Time is Much More Reliable
Solo 2 Race Mode Selection
Aim Solo 2 track day racing lap timer can manage different types of races, Speed races in a closed circuit, Point to-point races, Regularity, Performance tests (0-100 km/h etc.). In each of these configurations, this gives you the correct information during the test and powerful data review immediately after each session.

At the end of your test, you can quickly review all the key information on your display.
Wi-Fi Solo Communication with the PC
Wi-Fi connection is easy and fast without connectors or cables,
Simply the best way to configure your Solo 2, to manage the track database and to download the data to your PC.
Solo 2 DL, with ECU Connection
The Solo 2 DL Version
There is more than 1,000 protocols for over 1,000 ECU’s in the database. This allows the Solo 2 DL, easy connection to your Engine Control Unit providing you a lot of information with just one cable. Where your ECU protocol is not in the database, an ECU Driver Builder is always available in the Race Studio 3 configuration software. Which you will be able to create your protocol by yourself.
Coil RPM input
Solo 2 DL now features a digital input allowing to log RPM either from square wave signals (8-50 V each signal) or pulse signals (150-450 V ignition coil trigger – primary circuit).
SmartyCam HD connection
The perfect connection helps to get all the data from your ECU, and merge them with the GPS information. Then transmit everything to the SmartyCam HD, that will show them in graphical overlay in the video.
AiM Solo 2
The AIM Solo 2 raises the bar for GPS lap timers. The GPS technology used in this unit has been updated from its predecessor. Now receives the data from two satellite constellations, GPS and Glonass; making for a significant improvement in data speed and positioning precision. Start up time is reduced to a matter of seconds and lap times are accurate to a tolerance of two hundredths of a second.
The display of the Solo 2 features an attractive selection of 7 different backlight colours and which can selected by the user to best suit their requirements. A sharp, because high contrast display helps the driver to easily identify the data being displayed.
Latest GPS Technology
Making use of GPS technology, the Solo 2 is pre-loaded with a database of correct New Zealand tracks so that as soon as the unit is switched on, it identifies its position and loads the start line coordinates ready to begin recording lap times. If, however, the particular track that you are at is not recognised, the Solo 2 automatically enters autolearning mode and begins to build the track layout based on your car position and records the lap times.
The improved GPS technology in the Solo 2 also provides better reliability from the predictive lap timing function. So that you can see, in real time, how your current lap compares to your best lap. The LEDs are also configurable to give a visual indication on whether you are quicker or slower. The Solo now features a theoretical lap timing mode which pieces together your overall best sector times. To provide an optimal lap time that could be achieved. Timing information can also be shown in a delta format. Which gives a representation of how much time you are quicker or slower than your best lap.
The Solo is not just restricted to circuit racing, it can also be used for point to point or regularity events as well as performance tests such as 0-60 mph etc. As with the circuit racing mode, all data is recorded and can be reviewed immediately after the session.
If you want to further review the data at greater length, the Solo 2 has integrated Wi-Fi. So that you can transfer data securely and quickly to a laptop or computer up to 50m away without the need for connectors or cables. You can then import the data into the AIM Race Studio 3 software for full analysis.
